Owners Please Train and
Control Your Dogs
On Thursday, October 1st, our Miniature
Schnauzer was attacked by a pit bull during
our morning walk. As my husband and I
were walking her, the dog came charging
out of a yard and attacked our dog. I was
knocked to the ground but I immediately
held onto my dog and tried to pry the pit
bull’s mouth open. The dog’s owner tried
to pull her off of my dog, but it was a terrible

We implore our dog-owning neighbors to
ensure that your dogs are kept safely in your
house or fenced yard and that you leash them
properly whenever they are outside of these
areas. Make sure your doors and gates are
kept securely closed.
In addition, if you own a powerful dog like
a pit bull, please ensure that it is properly
trained. We do not blame the dog as she was
just acting on her instincts. As pet owners,
we are responsible for making sure our dogs
are well-adjusted and controllable.
