Page 2 August 28, 2014 TORRANCE TRIBUNE Business Briefs Fun for All at Camp Escapades Chamber Endless Summer Mixer On August 14, campers at Pediatric Therapy Network’s Camp Escapades attended the Sunrider Invitational game, where they played basketball together and got to meet the LA Kings’ Ice Crew. PTN’s Camp Escapades is an annual two-week summer day camp for children with special needs, including autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and other developmental concerns. Campers enjoy sports, moonbounces, yoga, music, dance, cooking, arts and crafts and waterslides. Special events include a petting zoo, carnival day, aquatic touch tanks, drum class, fun science presentations and more. Since 1997, over 4,500 campers and 6,500 volunteers have had the opportunity to learn, grow and have fun at Camp Escapades. For more information visit pediatrictherapynetwork.org. Planet Fitness currently has seven locations in the Los Angeles area and a second Torrance location is planned. With a $10/month membership fee and 24/7 access, Planet Fitness strives to make it a place for those who currently do not go to the gym because of monetary or time constraints and can work out without pressure. PROFS Holds Financial Seminar The Professional Roundtable of Financial Services (PROFS) is one of the programs offered to members of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce with the mission to establish essential relationships within the financial community as well as to keep informed and knowledgeable on financial matters. On August 21, guest speakers Matthew M. Hadnett and Josh Thomas from South Bay Lending presented information on the California housing market trends. Lunch was catered by Continental Gourmet Lomita.
