Page 6 September 15, 2016 TORRANCE TRIBUNE Purrrfect Companions Happy is the home with at least one cat. Add a little happiness when you adopt your purr-fect match. Amberle was rescued with her brother, who was adopted, from East Valley shelter at only four weeks old. This little girl is a stunner from her bright blue eyes, to her cream coat with striking Siamese color points.  She’s almost fluffy feeling while still being short haired and is super soft. Amberle is looking for a loving home with another kitty who will romp and wrestle with her. She’s a bit elegant, yet still loves to race around and play. She’s more assuming than demanding of attention, waiting patiently for her turn for snuggle and love. Amberle is a very quiet little girl, not a chatty bone in her body. When she gets excited, she’s more apt to spin in circles than cry at you. Amberle is a doll who can’t wait to find her loving forever family.  Hope is quite honestly the best cat in the entire world. Her personality is above and beyond awesome, there aren’t words to describe her adequately. Hope loves people - she greets strangers at the door, chirping and reaching her paws up for love and attention. She loves to play with toys, cuddle on the bed, sleep in your arms, burrow under the covers, follow you around, and generally desire all the attention you can lavish on her.   She will chat with you, crying back if you meow at her, and had the funniest cry ever. Ask her if she’s hungry at dinner time and she’ll let you know her thoughts.  Hope is permanently kitten sized, maxed out around 5 lbs 2.5oz and likely will never grow any larger. She is a pint-sized bundle of love with more heart than her tiny body can contain. She’s good with other cats and loves to snuggle with them. Hope definitely wants other cats in her life to play and spoon with.  Hope is considered a special needs cat though Beryl likes everything and everyone and is always happy to see you. Her amusing distinction is that she gets distracted by her tail. However if someone comes to play with her, Beryl is always excited to wrestle and chase with them too. She’s very patient with kittens who are still learning to play nicely and she’s relaxed around new friends. Beryl likes to sleep very soundly all stretched out on her back – even at the vet and in the cat carrier. She’s floppy and chill when you hold her and instantly purrs. She is not very athletic and uses the kitty stairs to get up on the bed. Jumping down seems very scary. But she is great at getting up the kitty tower and likes to sleep right on the top. Beryl needs to be adopted with another kitten her age and would want one of her sisters Edith or Elsie or her brother Robin.  Robin is excited about everything and loves to celebrate life all the time. His eyes are a smoky color, giving him an air of mystery. It’s impossible to be sad around him, he is just so, so happy. Robin likes to play and thank goodness he has his sisters. They have taught him good manners and he has learned to play gently, with no claws and only soft, play-bites. Robin will show you how happy he is to see you by batting your feet and jumping straight up in the air! After he’s tired out, Robin likes to crash long and hard at the top of the kitten tower. If you pick him up, even in the middle of playing, he relaxs instantly and flops into your arms. He will usually start purring for you too. Robin extremely clever, curious, and energetic. Robin needs to be adopted with one of my sisters (Beryl, Elsie, or Edith) or another kitty my own age. He has too much kitten energy to be alone. Robin is pretty easy going and get along with new cats quickly as long as they are okay with a lot of wrestling. she currently is on no medication, no special diet or care, and may remain so for the rest of her life.  She has had extensive tests done that all came back as either normal or inconclusive. We do know that she has a chronic high white blood cell count with no evidence of why, and a low red blood cell count that does regenerate. A specialist basically shrugged his shoulders and said he couldn’t find anything specifically wrong despite the blood count being not normal. It’s entirely possible she will never require any further medical care, though regular blood work is advisable. Emerald and her sister were found by a Good Samaritan in a trash can at only 1-2days old. The girls were bottle fed and thrived, making Emerald super people friendly and incredibly loving.  Her spectacular tortoiseshell markings are incredibly cute and compliment her greenish eyes. Emerald loves to sleep on your lap and snuggle in your arms. She will groom your arms, hands, hair and legs when given the chance. She loves people food and will sneak a bite to ensure it has been properly prepared. Watch out with wrappers, Emerald has aspirations of being a garage man and will scoop them up. She also loves pens and articles of clothing, exercising her love of home decorating and adding accent pieces to various rooms. Emerald is a character and loves to play with toys. Super curious and always exploring the house, she is both active and more mellow now.   It takes her time to adjust to new cats but she gets along with everyone in her foster home. Emerald would be an amazing new family member and will love you forever.  Are you a superhero in search of side-kick? Edith wants you to know that she is very qualified to fill that position for you. She’s smart, funny, really fast and nimble, a super-good cuddler, and pretty sure she can see right into people’s souls. At least, Edith likes to look deep into people’s eyes and really try to understand who they are. Edith has the personality and look of a Russian Blue, with faint stripes like a tiger. She likes to hide under the blanket and then jump out suddenly. And, she gets so excited to see people that she runs right up to them and instantly start purring. Unless Edith has something really important to do, like play in the tunnel, or chase her siblings around the room, she’ll purr while you pet her, and then rush off to her last activity. Because Edith is still young and learning, she likes to divide her duties between being your sidekick, and playing with one of her siblings: Elsie, Beryl, or Robin. At her young age, she will need to be adopted with one of sisters or brother or into a home with another kitty, so she will have someone to chase, wrestle, bite, and cuddle with when you’re tending to your other duties.
