Obituaries
Robert Mark Rooney
Robert “Mark” Rooney peacefully
passed away on Monday
September 2nd. He was born in
Stamford, Connecticut on May
8th 1951 to Joseph Rooney “Bud”
and Shirley Rooney “Dot”. Mark
leaves behind his best friend and
wife of Forty years Katherine
Margot Rooney and his two sons
Joseph, and Patrick Rooney, as
well as his three siblings Todd
Rooney, Sandy Chenet and
Scott Rooney, not to mention the numerous
In-Laws, nieces and nephews. He
was a LAPD Police Officer (of
33 years), a Godfather, Father
and above all a great husband.
His love for family was first
and the community was a close
second. He dedicated his life to
protecting all he loved whether
that was on duty, at home or
coaching his children on the
diamond. Mark will be forever
missed, but never forgotten.

Thursday, Aug. 29
One female adult was arrested at 0333 hours
from the 700 block of North Pacific Coast
Highway for possession of stolen property
and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A burglary report was taken at 1057 hours
from the 700 block of South Allied Way. The
suspect entered the locker room and stole a
cell phone from an unlocked locker.
A burglary (residential) report was taken
at 1036 hours from the 900 block of East
Imperial Avenue. Unknown suspect(s) broke
into the victim’s locked garage and stole
computer equipment.
A burglary (residential) report was taken
at 1413 hours from the 900 block of East
Imperial Avenue. Unknown suspect(s) broke
into the victim’s locked garage and stole
unknown items.
A petty theft report was taken at 1433
hours from the 700 block of South Pacific Coast
Highway. Unknown suspect(s) took clothing
items from the store and fled the location.
A vandalism report was taken at 1759
hours from East Grand Avenue and Indiana
Street. Unknown suspect(s) broke the
victim’s vehicle window.
A burglary report was taken at 1836 hours
from the 1900 block of Hughes Way. Taken
were several items from a storage unit.
A domestic violence report was taken at
2158 hours from the 1900 block of Mariposa
Avenue. Boyfriend punched and kicked his
girlfriend.
Friday, Aug. 30
A found property report was taken at 0631
hours at Holly Avenue and Richmond Street.
Found was a backpack.
