Life Goes On We really never ever know what one day will bring. There are many families in Roseburg, Oregon whose lives were drastically changed last week in a matter of minutes by one young, crazy kid. Each day I wake up and thank God for another day to live here on earth. I ask that He lead me in the way I should go. So, I have peace knowing that the creator of the universe is in charge of my life and the entire world. Recently, I received a text from my daughter saying, “I was hit”. She was driving down Inglewood Avenue when a motorist turned right into her and totaled her Honda Civic. The deployed air bags definitely saved her from serious injury. Just a few days later, my 86 year old mother-in-law was bitten by a dog that was being walked by her owner. The bite drew blood and brought about a trip to the doctor’s office. We really never know what each day will bring. We pray for safety for our loved ones. We take steps to make our homes and cars safe. But, ultimately we are in God’s hands. Bad things happen to good people. Being a Christian or just doing the right things does not insulate us from the dangers and illnesses of this world. At the end of the day, we can only sit back, count our blessings and have one of those “refreshing beverages”. Two Al’s Recovering We are thankful for successful cancer surgeries for two men who have given much to our city. Both, Al Wise and Allen Richards came through their recent surgeries and are rehabbing at home. We pray for their full recovery so that they may return to their volunteer duties. • Police Reports crenshaw blvd closures 43rd St/Homeland Dr – 48th St Plan ahead to avoid delays October 18 – November 23 Metro bus lines in this area will be rerouted during the closures.
