TORRANCE TRIBUNE October 9, 2014 Page 11 Long-term shelter resident Vinny has found a new forever family. Wowser Schnauzers Sherry gets along well with others. Laila is a quick learner. Happy Tails along with other dogs. If you are interested in Laila, please email info@msfr.org for more information. We are looking for volunteers to help with our Saturday pet adoption events which are held at the Petco located at 537 N. Pacific Coast Highway Redondo Beach 90277. If you are interested in volunteering and can commit to at least one Saturday a month, please contact us at info@msfr.org Hello my name is Laila and I’ve had a rather unconventional life for a 5-year old, white, female, purebred Miniature Schnauzer. I belonged to a back yard breeder before being dumped, along with Sherry, at a LA county shelter. It’s obvious that we’re related but it’s not quite certain how – could be sisters or mother and daughter. Since I was a backyard dog, I need some help with housebreaking, obedience training and a little improvement on my people skills wouldn’t hurt either. I’m a really quick learner so I should be on track in no time. When I was first rescued, I had some bald spots, not very attractive for a lady, but they were due to flea allergies and as long as I’m flea free, my coat is lovely. I’m the smaller than Sherry, weighing about 16 pounds – just the perfect size for cuddling and I even get Patience is a shy little schnoodle. Major bell ringing and congratulations to Vinny and his new family! Vinny was our “longest term” dog but he waited to find the perfect family for him. He is the “Schnoodle” who was rescued in summer of 2013 after he was confiscated at a Vet’s office. That’s where it was discovered he was “poisoned” by prescription drugs. We rescued him after he was turned over to a high kill shelter and he’s been a great little guy. Vinny now resides in Long Beach and has a wonderful family who calls him a “snuggler.” Wishing them a long and happy life together. If you have any questions about a particular dog’s availability you can email us at info@ msfr.org. Please visit all of our Miniature Schnauzers & Friends rescues at the adoptions fair held every Saturday from noon-3:30 p.m. or check out our website, www.msfr.org. Our adoptions fairs take place at Petco, 537 N. Pacific Coast Highway, Redondo Beach, California. Schnauzers! Bet you can’t adopt just one! • Harmony is a loving, sweet girl. Hi I’m Sherry and I’m a younger, 2-year old, and a slightly larger, 19 pound, version of Laila. I too am a white, female, purebred Miniature Schnauzer who belonged to a back yard breeder before being dumped, at a LA county shelter along with Laila. Laila and I could be sisters or she could be my mother, it’s never been determined, however, we are very much alike. When I was rescued, I was pretty skittish but they MSFR folks were very patient with me, and bits of chicken were a huge incentive to work hard on my people skills and my housebreaking. I would probably also benefit from some obedience classes and due to flea allergies, I need be kept flea free. If you have a dog, not to worry – I get along splendidly with other canines. If you are interested in Sherry, please email info@msfr. org for more information. They call me Patience and it’s a good thing because it’s what I’ve been practicing while waiting for my forever family. I’m a tiny, 11 pound, 3-year old, female Miniature Schnauzer/Poodle mix. Even though I’m a “Schnoodle” I look very Schnauzery with my natural ears and tail. I had been at a LA county shelter for several weeks before being rescued and no one wanted to take me home or was even interested me. I think it’s probably because I’m not a very outgoing girl. I’m basically a shy, reserved little gal but I do warm up to folks very quickly and it’s obvious by my non-stop tail wagging when I find a friend! I get along with other dogs but I’m really a people kind of gal who loves spending time on your lap. If you are interested in Patience, please email info@ msfr.org for more information. My name is Harmony and that’s what I’m can bring, along with lots of love, to my forever family. After spending my whole life being a loyal, loving companion, my previous owner rewarded me by dumping me at a kill shelter. I was just discarded like a bag of trash and I am so grateful that the MSFRR folks rescued me. They took me to their Vet and because my teeth were terrible most of them had to be extracted. The Vet also discovered that I have some high liver levels so now I’m on a low fat diet, which will keep me on track and at my weight of 17 pounds. I am a very affectionate 9-year, female, Miniature Schnauzer who would love to be your one and only but I am tolerant of other dogs. If you are interested in Harmony, please email info@msfr.org for more information. •
