and blood work done. I’m happy to say that
I’ve received a clean bill of health and am
now looking for a forever home. I’ve always
had brothers, so I obviously get along with
kids and other dogs. I’m only 14 pounds, so
I don’t take up much room and I still have
so much love and companionship to give.
Cole and I always thought we’d spend our
senior years together and we really don’t
want to be separated. Would you be willing
to open your heart to me… and hopefully,
my brother Cole?”
If you’re interested in Calvin, please

“Hello. I’m Cole and I believe you’ve
already met my ‘brother’ Calvin. I too am
an 11-year-old Miniature Schnauzer that
was adopted from MSFR over 10 years ago
and am now in need of a new home. Who
would have ever imagined that after living
and loving a family for over 10 years that
you would be looking for a new home in
your senior years? Life sure can change on a
dime. It was only a few years ago that Dad
passed away and now Mom has informed us
that she can no longer take care of Calvin
or me because of her health issues. A recent
trip to the MSFR veterinarian for a dental
and blood work-up resulted in my being
declared in good health. I’m 20 pounds of
personality, as I get along well with kids and

you can’t adopt just one.
“Hi, my name is Calvin and I’m a handsome,
male schnoodle (Schnauzer/Poodle
mix). Ten years ago, I had the most wonderful
life. A great mom and dad adopted me from
MSFR. I had two brothers – a two-legged
one and a four-legged one named Cole who
was also adopted from MSFR. Life couldn’t
get any better. Then a few years ago, everything
changed and I’m still trying to make
sense of it. First my dad passed away and
then my mom started having health issues.
So now, after over 10 years of being our
mom, she can no longer care for Cole or
me. Unfortunately, as seniors we have to
find new homes. I never dreamed that at 11
years of age, my life as I’ve known it would
change so drastically. The wonderful folks at
MSFR are trying to help find us a home, so
I’ve seen their veterinarian and had a dental
other dogs. In fact, I’ve never been without
a brother and desperately want to stay with
my brother Calvin. I know it will take someone
with a huge heart and appreciation for
a couple of seniors to give us a home. We
still have so much love and joy to give, so
please give us a chance. Could that person
be you? I know if you could be our forever
home, you won’t regret it.”
If you’re interested in Cole, please email
info@msfr.org for more information.
“If a really cute, 1-year old, male Miniature
Schnauzer mix is your idea of the ultimate
companion, then I’m your guy! They call
me McDuff, or Duff, but whatever you call
me, you’ll be glad you adopted me. I was
a pretty inquisitive youngster, so I decided
to explore my neighborhood and…wouldn’t
you know it, I got lost. I started to ask if
anyone could help me find my home when
a human stepped on my right rear foot and
broke three of my toes. If they hadn’t been
broken, I would have never been picked up
by animal control and taken to an LA County
shelter and registered as a stray. Luckily, all
it took was one look at me and the MSFR
folks couldn’t help themselves – they had to
rescue me and help me find a forever home.
With a little cage rest and a cast, my toes
healed completely with no long-term issues.
I’m happy to announce that I’m jumping,
running and playing like any other pup my
age. Speaking of other pups, I get along great
with other dogs. Since I’m a high-energy
kind of guy, I definitely need a home with
a yard. I’m not very big -- only 20 pounds
or so -- with a sweet little face, docked tail
and naturals ears.”
If you’re interested in McDuff, please

Congratulations to Chloe and her new family!
Congratulations to Chloe and her new
family. It was no surprise to anyone that she
found her forever home so quickly! This little
gal, who was dumped by her previous owners
because she didn’t want to be left alone in
the yard all day and kept escaping, is a real
sweetie. Chloe’s folks are previous adopters
who have MSFR 2013 alumnus Lulu, formerly
known as Trish. Chloe’s mom brought Lulu
to a meet and greet and it was love at first
sight. Although her new dad couldn’t make
the meet and greet, she worked her magic
and apparently he’s also quite smitten with
this tiny girl. In fact, even Lulu is thrilled
and the ladies are getting along famously. We
wish the Lake Forest family much happiness
and lots of wonderful times together. •

If you see a dog with a YELLOW RIBBON
or something yellow on the leash, this is a
dog who needs some space. Please do
not approach this dog with your dog. Please
maintain distance or give this dog and his/her
person time to move out of your way.
There are many reasons why
a dog may need space:
HEALTH ISSUES
IN TRAINING
BEING REHABILITATED
SCARED OR REACTIVE AROUND OTHER DOGS
