Kiwanis Good Citizen Award:
Theodore Chengcuenca
Theodore Chengcuenca entered the
detached garage of his apartment building.
He observed an unknown male in the
parking area looking into the passenger
window of a parked vehicle. When the
suspect saw Chengcuenca, he immediately
left. Chengcuenca called the police and
provided a description of the man while
following him until officers arrived. After a
search of the suspect, he was found to be in
possession of credit cards and identification
that belonged to other people, as well as
auto burglary tools and methamphetamine.
Chengcuenca’s quick action let to the arrest
of a burglary suspect.

The Free Epic Music Concert performance
by the El Segundo Concert Band (ESCB),
Saturday, March 3 at 7 p.m. will be a

favorites from Ben Hur, Ten Commandments,
The Godfather and other awesome musical
masterpieces with lighting designed to further
enhance the concert experience.
Artistic music director and renowned conductor
and maestro Steven Allen Fox will
offer a legendary concert of heroic proportions,
with music by master composers including
Bernard Herrmann, John Williams, Miklos
Rozsa, Eric Whitacre, Elmer Bernstein, John
Mackey and Nino Rota who have given us
memorable themes and background music
for classic films and more. In addition, the
age-old favorite Carmina Burana will be
featured due to its incredible popularity
through the years.
Our Composition Competition Winner,
Jeremy Bell, was chosen from 14 entries
by composers who submitted their original
music to be judged by our jury of experts.
ESCB reviewed the original renditions to
find the most remarkable new piece of music
among those hoping to win the $500 prize.
The premiere performance of the winner’s
composition will be played for the first time
at the Epic Music concert.
El Segundo Concert Band Free Concert,
Epic Music by Master Composers, will be
held at El Segundo Performing Arts Center,
640 Main Street. A concert for all ages. The
