the schools.”
Consent agenda items passed on Tuesday
included: An El Segundo Middle School
Assembly Leadership Summit that will take
place on Nov. 5-7, and approval to enter into
a consulting agreement with ex-Richmond
Street Elementary Principal Dickie Van Breene.
Teen Truth, LLC will helm the Middle
School Leadership Summit. According to
District-provided notes, the purpose of the
summit is “to help students better understand
cultural and social differences at school.”
Breene, who has consulted with the District
for the past three years, will provide technical
support to the Educational Services Department
for the development and input of the mandated
Local Control and Accountability Plan.
Action items passed included the approval
of TLC summer session rates; and an agreement
with the local firm Ignited LLC, which
will utilize its expertise to partner with El
Segundo Unified to graphically develop the
Graduate Learner Profile Scorecard, design
a new District logo and motto, and develop
a “bond dollars at work” motto.
Also passed Tuesday evening: the notice
