ballot counter delayed the process at City Hall
and the first set of precinct numbers did not
post until just after 10 p.m. Once they finally
did, the rest came in quickly and the unofficial
totals were available by 10:45 p.m.
According to City Clerk Tracy Weaver, her
office still has a few more votes to count.
Any vote by mail ballots that arrive the next
three days after the election will be added in,
provided those are postmarked on or before April
10. Provisional ballots (those with questions
about a given voter’s eligibility) also had yet
to be counted. Voters deemed to have improper
signatures will have eight days from April 10
to resubmit their ballots. Weaver and staff
will make a final count on April 19 and then
audit the results the following day. The limited
stopped short of proclaiming victory. “We’re
very excited and optimistic and look forward to
seeing the final results,” he said. “I’m incredibly
grateful for the support of the volunteers and
the time everyone put in. I’m also grateful for
the way all the candidates ran their campaigns.”
Giroux, a sales executive for a local company,
conceded the election late Tuesday night. “I
want to thank everyone very much for all
of the help and support I received during
the campaign,” he said. “Scot and Chris are
